April Already?! and a random book review
April Already?!
[ the picture isnt mine, its from pinterest ]
Wasn't it just yesterday that I was scribbling down my never-ending list of resolutions, full of hope and delusion? And yet, here we are—April. Four months in, and what do I have to show for it? Well, I've attended conferences and presented research papers. Yay, academic validation! But the one thing I really wanted to focus on this year (besides, you know, studying—duh) was social media.
For some reason, I got weirdly obsessed with it. Why? No clue. Am I doing well? Absolutely not. But can I even complain when I’ve barely been consistent? Also no.
Anyway, in an attempt to reconnect with my pre-med school self (the one who read 200 books a year—miss you, girl, come back), I picked up Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. And since I have no idea how to post about it on Instagram or YouTube without spiraling into a content crisis, I’ll just yap about it here. You’re welcome.
So, the book.
It’s set in academia, which automatically earns it some brownie points because, as a med school girlie, I just cannot vibe with a main character working in a corporate office or as a literature major. I need some intellectual chaos to feel at home.
Now, the male lead? Liked him. But his brother? LOVED him. Fight me.
The female lead? She had me frustrated about 90% of the time, but to be fair, her real-life struggles did have me side-eyeing my own future. (Just kidding. Maybe. I guess.🫠)
Overall, it was a fun read. There were moments that made me laugh and moments that made me cringe (don’t come at me). But I liked it. It lifted my mood, and for that, it gets a solid 8/10.
Now, if only I could read 200 books a year again. Sigh.
Putting this on my reading list rn
